It only seems like yesterday that the Arcade Fire’s awesome debut was released to an unsuspecting public around the globe. “Funeral” was an album that quickly spread the word in 2004 about this then-new band from Canada that were intense with great songwriting. They followed this up in 2007 with the massive “Neon Bible” which saw them take the charts by storm and made them top billing at festivals around the world. Now the band are back with their 3rd album “The Suburbs”.
After 2 incredibly well received albums the pressure is most certainly on the band to deliver another CD which stands up and develops the band. “The Suburbs” sees them team up with producer Markus Dravs who worked on the “Neon Bible” album. Two tracks have already been previewed “Month Of May” and “Suburbs” which don’t really show a great deal of progression from “Neon Bible” but both are compelling on first listen and will deliver more on repeat listens. There is still the enormous sound which has been a hallmark of the first 2 albums which will delight their fans.
