Description
After two phenomenally successful albums with Savage Garden, three pioneering solo albums and 26 million sales, Secret Codes And Battleships is singer-songwriter Darren Hayes's first proudly mainstream pop album in four years and it might just be the best of his career. "It feels like I've woken up from a coma," he chuckles.
What a long, strange, sometimes despairing, mostly magical trip it's been. The kid from the trailer parks of Brisbane who loved Star Wars (but not so much he didn't sell his precious collection of Star Wars toys to buy Christmas presents for his family) and Michael Jackson always knew he was going to make it.
In mid-2010, Hayes announced the completion of recording his fourth solo album, Secret Codes and Battleships, mixed by Robert Orton, who is best known for working with Lady Gaga. He is set to release his new album on the 21st of October 2011, with massive singles "Talk Talk Talk". "Bloodstained Heart" and "Black Out the Sun" all featured.

Comments about MERCURY AU Darren Hayes - Secret Codes & Battleships (Deluxe Edition):
Darren Hayes is just superb. His voice is amazing and he is too under-rated. As usual he doesn't disappoint and the album contains some beautiful songs that are atmospheric, mesmerizing and original. Buy it!

Whether you are a fan of Darren Hayes or not you have to buy this album.
It is very accesible and every track has something different to offer you. Not a single weak track on this album. Even the bonus disc is amazing and I listen to disc 2 as much as the main album.
Give it a go, I did and I love love love it. I can't stop listening to it.

Comments about MERCURY AU Darren Hayes - Secret Codes & Battleships (Deluxe Edition):
I've been a great fan of Darren Hayes and Savage Garden for years and I love most of his work. He has the most beautiful voice and I think in most countries he doesn't get the credit he deserves. This album is full of pleasant surprises. The accoustic versions of Talk,Talk,Talk and Black out the sun are gems. The catchy Stupid Mistake is nowhere near being a mistake and the beautiful Bloodstained heart and Glorious, well they speak for themselves. Darren is a musician in heart and soul and that shines through in all the lyrics and every single melody. Thank you Darren!

Comments about MERCURY AU Darren Hayes - Secret Codes & Battleships (Deluxe Edition):
I listen to Bloodstained Heart over and over because Darren's voice is amazing on that track. From my point of view Bloodstained Heart is his best song since his Savage Garden days. Darren's voice has so many variations that every track is easy to listen to.

Comments about MERCURY AU Darren Hayes - Secret Codes & Battleships (Deluxe Edition):
Taken By The Sea is Just The first of Many outstanding tracks,Nearly Love,Black Out The Sun his current single are superb, My favourites on the first side would be Stupid Mistake And Cruel Cruel World. On Cd 2 if you buy the special edition is Explode a possible single typical Savage Garden,Perfect is what it says showing of his voice and melody making brilliant.I Know there is only 7 tracks on CD 2 but the Studio tracks 5 off are well worth the extra money.Tiny Little flashlights my grand daughter loves.Overall if you liked Savage Garden And Darren's other Albums you won't be let down by this album Would I recommend it, Right I Would...

Comments about MERCURY AU Darren Hayes - Secret Codes & Battleships (Deluxe Edition):
This album has all the elements of his previous albums, yet it's different. It's not as personal and sad as "The Tension and the spark", not as poppy as "Spin", not as electronic as the "This delicate thing we've made" CD. What we've got here is a brilliant songwriting, and flawless vocal perfomence, as always. This album is a grower. Best tracks: "Taken by the sea", "Hurt", "God Walking into the room" and "Siren's Call".
