Description
When Elvis Presley first exploded onto the scene in the UK, RCA did not have its own outlet, licensing material to the likes of HMV. Thus a series of releases was issued that bear little or no relation to Elvis' American discography, including Elvis' first UK number one album, Rock 'N' Roll at the tail end of 1956.
Six months later HMV gathered together another collection of hits and B-sides and issued these as Rock 'N' Roll Part 2, an album that made number three on its third and final week on the chart (it should be remembered that the UK album chart at this time merely listed the top five best selling albums!).
