Comments about EMM/NUCLEAR BLAST Meshuggah - Obzen:
Meshuggah have raised the bar yet again with this album, proving once and for all that they deserve a place in the heavy metal hall of fame. The music is innovative and fantastically intricate and reveals itself more upon repeat listening. Some of the sounds contained in Obzen are jaw dropping and leave you wondering how exactly do they do that? This is an album that will be talked about for years to come, from a band that have pushed the boundaries of modern metal.

Comments about EMM/NUCLEAR BLAST Meshuggah - Obzen:
I was also a bit late to the Meshuggah party. I was well aware of the respect Meshuggah commands among peers and fans in the music world and I took note, but for me it really did not actually click until I listened to Meshuggah's music in more detail after seeing them at Soundwave 2012. It was like a revalation. Finally everything was crystal clear; this band creates spectacular music that really is an exploration of sounds and deep, thought provoking content.
Thats one of the greatest joys about this album, you can keep coming back to it and you can still discover new things you missed and wonderful little nuances of sound. The production and song writing is impecable, the band spent a great deal of time working on 'Obzen' and they created a masterpiece.
Easily one of the best records I have ever bought.

Comments about EMM/NUCLEAR BLAST Meshuggah - Obzen:
I had never been able to `get` Meshuggah in the past despite trying several times. That changed after seeing them perform live at the recent 2012 Soundwave Festival. I was captivated by their original style and the sheer furiousity of their music. I decided to try again and definately now have a new found appreciation of their music. This album contains that exact feeling and power I witnessed on stage. While I am in no way a Meshuggah expert I would recommend this to anyone keen to check them out. For me it`s not so much an album I can just throw on at anytime and listen, but when I am in the mood for listenign to it, nothing else really compares for sheer agression and plain unfriendly music, and I mean that as the highest form of compliment!!

Comments about EMM/NUCLEAR BLAST Meshuggah - Obzen:
Meshuggah once again raise the bar with another solid and super technical release, 'Obzen'. Just listen to the double bass on the song 'Bleed', or the tempo shifts in 'Combustion'. This is the soundtrack of the mechanical apocalypse!
