Description
Paolo Nutini’s future was initially to take over the family’s fish and chip shop, but it was his musical talent that reigned supreme. With his folksy groove to his jazz vocals, the Scottish lad moved to London before he was 18, and after regular performances at a pub in Balham, started getting radio play.
Releasing his first album These Streets in 2006, his new blend of folk and pop granted him and his band The Vipers appearances on Later with Jools Holland, playing in New York’s Carnegie Hall and Glastonbury Festival. His new album ‘Sunny Side Up’ has been one of the best selling UK albums of 2009, and has been number one since the start of 2010.
It’s less polish with a more ‘Unplugged’ sound the songs of swinging energy and country with a twist of soul. The tracks include appearances by trombonist Rico Rodriguez and American DJ ?uestlove spreads out the tracks with outside inspiration.

A remarkably mature 22-year old - check out his heartfelt, countryish form on 'Simple Things' - Nutini has proved there's more to him than good looks The Guardian
...an eccentric blast, like some obscure lost classic from the Seventies The Telegraph
If 'Worried Man' was discovered on an obscure album by some ancient troubadour, collectors would be scratching each others beards out to get hold of it The Times
