Description
When the University downsized the para-psychology department, Doctors Venkman ( Bill Murray), Stantz (Dan Aykroyd) and Spengler (Harold Ramis) make the leap from scientist to Ghostbusters, investigators and exterminators of paranormal pests! The bewitching Dana Barrett (Sigourney Weaver) discovers her refrigerator has become a portal into the spiritual dimension, our heroes then come face to face with an ancient evil force with plans to raise hell in Manhattan!
Plot Synopsis
When Dr. Peter Venkman and his Columbia University colleagues are kicked out of their prestigious academic posts, they start a private practice as professional ghost-catchers. Although the three parascientists are idle for awhile, their television advertisements finally pay off when beautiful Dana Barrett contracts them. It seems her apartment has become the entryway for ghastly ghosts and goofy ghouls hellbent on terrorising New York City. Soon they're going to her rescue, trying to rid the city of the slimy creatures.
