Description
Korean War vet and retired autoworker Walt Kowalski doesn't much like how his life or his neighborhood has turned out. He especially doesn't like the people next door, Hmong immigrants from Southeast Asia. But events force Walt to defend those neighbors against a local gang that feeds on violence and fear. Plot Synopsis
Hardworking Oscar winner Clint Eastwood releases his second film in 2008 (after THE CHANGELING) with this drama. Eastwood also stars as Walt Kowalski, an older man and retired Korean War hero who holds onto his prejudices despite the changes in his neighbourhood and the world around him. However, when he catches a local kid trying to steal his prized car—the Gran Torino of the title—as part of a gang initiation, Walt overcomes his bigoted outlook and decides to put the boy on the right path.
