Description

"Everything in Salem's Lot is connected to that house. You can see it from every part of the town. It's like a beacon throwing off an energy force." - Ben Mears (David Soul) At last! Salem's Lot, the 1979 horror mini-series from 1979, gets the much-desired DVD treatment. Based on Stephen King's terrifying vampire novel, Tobe Hooper's cult movie is a supernatural journey into the strange world of the titular town and its oddball inhabitants. Ben Mears (Soul) returns to his hometown, Salem's Lot, to complete work on his latest novel, but finds himself increasingly disturbed by the object of his attention, Mr Straker's (James Mason) mansion house, which terrified Ben as a child. It seems that the residents have been acting up, and some have even gone missing; all of which coincides with the arrival of Mr Straker and his mysteriously anonymous business partner, Mr Barlow, to Salem's Lot. Ben vows to get to the bottom of the disappearances and confront his childhood fears...

      Comments about Salem's Lot:

I had watched Salems Lot many years ago and really scared me the first time around espicially the window scenes. and those scences still put shivers up my skin even when I watch it in 2014.

if you like vampire films this is one i would recommend to all.

        Comments about Salem's Lot:

It's an old horror movie but I still love it. I saw it as a kid and the blue skin vampire still gives me the creeps! It has a good story and very good acting and characters. I can't believe Stephen King had a new version of Salem's lot made beause he didn't like this version. Believe me, the Tobe Hooper version is the best one to get.
Watch out for the scene in the jail to get a good fright!! Excellent!!
