The veteran Jamaican-born vocalist/ songwriter, occasional actor Jimmy Cliff, owner of one of the sweetest voices in popular music, has enjoyed a long, meandering and absorbing career that has frequently embraced vertiginous heights as well as times of struggle and hardship.
