Ajb is simply the initials of my first, middle, and last name. My name is Andy, and I have been writing songs and playing music for about 25 years. I grew up around music and have been playing it for as long as I can remember. In high school I started a 'modern rock' band with some friends. The bass player from that band and I went on to play in several other bands together in the early 90s. In 1996 I finished college and moved back home to the bay area. An old friend of mine playing bass got in touch, and we soon recruited another old friend of mine from high school as a second guitarist and songwriter. After finding a drummer, we began recording demos and playing shows under the name Curbside Journal. We recorded a demo in 1997, followed up by a full length LP in 1999, supported by a short pacific northwest tour that summer, several shows in the bay area, and a final EP in 2001. Since then I have just been writing and recording at home. I haven't pursued getting involved with another band yet, but I certainly haven't ruled out the possibility either. This CD, and the 5 song EP that can be downloaded from my website, are the results of some demos written and performed in my apartment over the last five years. Enjoy, and thanks for reading.
