The Alder Ensemble is an eclectic band of world, classical, electronic and roots folk musicians. We work together to lift the world up with improvised music that brings us closer to the beauty of our dreams. You will find square roots made of raindrops with Lili Haydn's virtuoso bowing in "A Rooted Rain Dance". You will also find tribal Native American and African drums in the orchestral composition "Going Back to College", featuring Baba Alade, Iktomi and Ernie Gradhatch-Mauro. The natural songs and sounds of crickets, birds, frogs, wind and rain are all joyfully present to be subtly found within these classical art songs. Antonio 'Papa Bear' Martinez, William Goldstein and Chris 'Eco' Camacho lend their efforts towards poetic phrasing and a unique ending for the composition "The Balance of Nature". The "one" of the rhythm in the song "Metamorphosis" is subtly placed, where things aren't as obvious as they might seem. Patrick Guidry performs interesting vocal rhythms, featured in the songs "Funky Happy Healthy Husbands Helping Their Wives" and "Alder Inspiration". Last but not least, Rita offers her husband Ernie much good advice towards the arrangements of "Faith Renewal" and "Old Growth New Growth". Can you hear the wrens singing along with the whispering maple, ponderosa, oaks, and alder trees, dancing in the wind?
