20 some years ago, Alex Gordon picked up a guitar and changed my life forever. It would be impossible to list even a fraction of the memories his music has given me. His glorious melodies have become the soundtrack to my life. His songs keep me going, reminding me that miracles still happen, that life is joyous. And how lucky I am. About 2 years ago, Alex picked up the baritone guitar and changed his life forever. It's as if he came home. As if all of his musical experiments (from playing BUDDY HOLLY tunes in his room during puberty, to playing CROSSTOWN TRAFFIC to a basement full of raging teenagers in high school, to touring the country as a singer-songwriter as a young man, to fronting a 3 man orchestra last year) have led him here. And led him to you. And how lucky you are. About 1 year ago, Alex hid out in his basement. He resurfaced 2 months later, armed with TOWN, a record so perfect in it's execution, so beautiful in every detail, that once you hear it, it will change your life forever. Trust me, if you're down, Alex can pick you up. If you're smiling, he will play just the right phrase to keep you smiling all day. Oh, and if he ever happens to pass through your town, promise me you'll put down whatever you're doing and catch his live show. For Alex Gordon live is an experience not to be missed, an experience you won't soon forget. - Chris Moses, April 2008.
