Description
San Francisco, 1900: A chance post-mortem examination revealed that a Chinese immigrant had perished from bubonic plague. As the city's racially animated and profit-driven response initially failed to stem the epidemic, a federal health official faced an uphill battle to isolate the true cause of the spread as rats-and establish rodent control as a means of stopping it.
