Amy Hailstone With powerful hook laden Pop/Rock, Amy Hailstone invites you to experience songs that are soul-searching in their exploration of love, dreams, loss, and hope. As a singer, songwriter and guitarist, this artist invests her music with her whole heart. Amy's new album, Refuge, produced by Dan Strain, clearly demonstrates that this guitar slinger delivers her own unique sound and style. Growing up as a sixth generation musician in Gillespie IL, Amy began to play the piano at five, and then as a teenager her passion for writing became apparent, as well as her obsession for playing the guitar. Amy went on to study guitar and voice at Lewis and Clark College in Godfrey IL, and Music Tech in Minneapolis MN. After graduating Music Tech with honors, Amy fronted a cover ban and toured the United States non-stop for two years. In 2000 she started her own record label, New Tattoo Records, and released her debut album. Along with writing and singing the songs, she co-produced and played all of the guitars on the project. Touring throughout the Midwest as well as playing the Borders Book Store circuit in support of the CD helped her to earn a wide fan base. Promoting the record, securing gigs and distribution, also taught her how to balance art and commerce. Amy's sunny and accessible personality is offset by the deep thinking, questioning side of her character. While these traits intermingle to create Amy's dynamic live performances, her songs allow her to identify with, and connect to her audience on an intimate level showing both her strength and vulnerability. Amy can throw down a fiery guitar lead one minute, and deliver an emotion drenched lyric the next; allowing her listeners to discover a confident, sexy, fun, artist on and off the stage, who is just enjoyable to be around. When not playing or writing music, Amy enjoys listening to artists such as Michelle Branch, Maroon 5, Train, Sheryl Crow and John Mayer. She can also be found indulging her other passions such as walking her four dogs, shopping for shoes, reading the latest spirituality book, practicing yoga, or hanging out with friends and family. There is always something just beneath the surface pushing her forward to continue learning and improving every area of her life. Touching lives through music is the central purpose, love, and unstoppable force in Amy Hailstone's life.
