Andrew Carney Andrew began playing trumpet and flugelhorn professionally at the age of 15 (1979). He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education from California State University, Los Angeles. Although he plays, writes, and arranges many styles of music, his first love is Jazz. He performs locally in the Los Angeles and Orange County California area as well as jazz festivals throughout the country (Sun Valley, Idaho, Park City,Utah, Coos Bay, Oregon, Sisters, Oregon). In 2004 he will be traveling to Torino, Italy to perform with vocalist Yve Evans. In addition to live performances, you may have heard Andrew playing in television commercials for the Los Angeles Times, Nutra Systems, AM/PM Mini Markets, or perhaps even an episode or two of the Saturday Morning cartoon, 'Spiderman'. He has had the pleasure of performing with such artists as Dionne Warwick, Whitney Houston, Wayne Henderson, Bobby Lyle, Chaka Khan, Brenda Russell, and Randi Crawford. Andrew has lent his talents to many CD projects over the years. From Gospel to Rap, Straight Ahead Jazz to House music. His first solo CD as a bandleader, 'Home Again', is now followed by his latest release entitled, 'Playtime'.
