Somethings Almost Clear
It's been six and a half years since Antara & Delilah joined forces at a songwriting workshop. Their relationship was forged harmonizing on Beatles tunes, but the sum of their resulting partnership has developed into more than just a pair of pretty voices. A fearless songwriting of a unique sort has emerged; one that dares us to stop, connect, and be with one another. For Antara & Delilah, inspiration comes from places as far away as Costa Rica, as close to home as the air they breathe, and musical as Joni Mitchell, Annie Lennox and Shawn Colvin. Perhaps the most striking thing about Antara & Delilah's music, though, is it's elemental nature. Nurtured throughout their lives, much of their music finds meaning in the basic of experiences of love, loss, rebirth and growth. At one moment insightful and poetic, the next powerful and reaching, the evolving nature of their music is at the heart of what draws listeners in. Connecting with an audience is where Antara & Delilah's music is at home--whether that be in front of a live audience as evidenced by their 3 year run as Best Local Band (Santa Barbara News-Press Readers Poll 2003, 2002, 2001), or through any of their 4 self produced CDs. Fusing elements of pop, folk, jazz, country, bluegrass and rock, their music is undeniably eclectic and effortlessly appealing.
