Make a Change
More than a singing group, Art McAllister & Gospel One, stand true to the calling of their ministry. They are committed to ongoing outreach ministry in prisons, juvenile centers, rehabs and homeless shelters. Themselves having been set free from lifestyles of drug addiction, incarceration and backward living, Art's future plans include ongoing jail and prison ministry through psalmistry, teaching and preaching. Desiring to be a blessing to the Body of Christ Art stays firmly committed to ministering to recovering addicts, ex-convicts, and their families. The goal is simple, to deliver 'a message to set the captives free' Isaiah 61:1, to inspire and challenge men and women from all walks of life to take their God given places in their homes, communities and places of worship. Art believes that God is a God of change and that faith in Him is the key that unlocks the negative cycles of addictions, homelessness, imprisonment, single parent families, low self-esteem and non accountability. It is this type of commitment to the spreading of the gospel that has led Gospel One to be the recipient of the '1999 Glory Award' an honor bestowed by 'The Restoration Foundation' for faithful commitment to the ministry work of Jesus Christ and contributions to positive change in the community. Gospel One has been featured on KNBC TV News, KCET TV and in The Los Angeles Daily News. Prison Fellowship Ministries and Victory Outreach International. Numerous prison chaplains throughout California are among those who support and call upon Gospel One. Gospel One has also been highly received in numerous churches, special events and programs in and around the Southern California area. Art believes it is time to take the ministry to higher heights, to glorify and lift the name of Jesus across the nation and around the world. Other CD's include 'NO EASY ROAD' and 'REDEEMED' and have established a firm foundation for the ministry. Art's backround include 4 years as a staff songwriter for EMI Music, and stints as Bandleader and keyboardist for former 'Tower of Power' lead vocalist, Lenny Williams and also for the eldest Jackson 'Rebbie'. Several of his songs have charted as singles and title cuts for both artist. Since having been 'Born Again' in February 1996, miraculously delivered and set free from a lifestyle of drugs and incarceration by the same power that raised Jesus from the grave, he has committed his musical skills and ability to the spreading of the Gospel Of Jesus Christ as a psalmist, speaking and preaching. ' If God did it for me', he says, 'God can do it for anyone'. God's love has been shown toward us in that Jesus died that we all might be saved. Art invites you to take this opportunity to join the many people that have come to appreciate Gospel One as one of their favorites for contemporary gospel music that can truly 'Make A Change'
