When Retrospective was released back in 2013 the worlds magazines turned their views towards this new band from Sweden. Is this a ”super group” from Sweden featuring members from Pain of Salvation, Royal Hunt, Evergrey? Apart from musicians that was familiar faces from the prog scene Astrakhan was fronted by Sweden’s best vocalist - Alex Lycke. Alex experience from the international world of musicals was something else than your regular rock singer. His deep, rich voice and stage presence is the reason he’s been doing leading parts in Jesus Christ Superstar, Hair, Miss Saigon, Chess and Les Misérables all over Europe.

Unfortunately, the label Progpower went bust in the exact time for the release of Retrospective meant that the album didn’t reach the full market. Thanks to Christian at Melodic Passion and Sound Pollution the album will now be available again. Retrospective was considered as one of the best prog releases in 2013 in magazines like DPRP, Sweden Rock Magazine, Music Waves among others and shows band that hit it right with their debut album. The video is filmed at one of Astrakhans live performances at Swedish theatre in Turku and shows a hungry band yet filled with experience.
