Jeckyl & Hyde
Jeckyl & Hyde represents the debut Album of Bigboned. The sound has been compared to Matchbox 20, Counting Crowes and Three Doors Down, but with an individualistic spin. Double meanings aside, these are 4 regular guys from Southern Connecticut who demonstrate a larger-than-life zest for their music, as well as their endearing brother-like loyalty to each other. The hook-laden melodies are crafted from a no-nonsense mix of acoustic guitar, clean and distorted electric guitar, fresh bass guitar and dynamic, catchy drum riffs, set in a modern, yet soulful rock environment. The songwriting is an ethereal study of honest human emotions, showcasing both real and fictional bouts with Yin / Yang sentiments. Vocal crafting is melodic and very indicative of the song's core meaning, with three part harmonies regularly permeating the album's fabric. With each different track, the songwriting takes the listener on a different emotional journey through evocative storytelling. Each member of the band brings different influences and musical tastes to the mix, providing a creative and eclectic musical climate. The band formed in early 2000 and has been touring and gaining momentum from day one. One spin of this disc will keep you hitting the repeat button.
