Cry Mary Cry
A 3 piece rockin' outfit from Milwaukee, The Black Coats blend reggae, garage, soul, and punk in a style all their own. Understanding the need for music to contain art and passion once again, they've made their mark in the studio recording a full length CD (Cry Mary Cry) at the Exchange Studios in Milwaukee, which was released March 14th, 2008. 'We started making music because we became really bored with music in it's current state', says singer/guitarist David Messer. 'At a time when the music industry is ran by the old school thought of 'Sign whatever sounds the same', too many bands are falling prey and in the process creating horrible music that becomes really stale really quick. Too many bands aren't really bands at all, but lame groups incapable of lasting longer than 2 years.' A hard working band with a work ethic only rivaled by James Brown in his hey, The Black Coats have emerged from the studio yet again this Spring with a full length CD under their belt, Cry Mary Cry.
