Death of a Dream
A champion never dies ...' A champion never quits. A champion spends incredible amounts of time alone, training to be great. That is the mantra that Blaze Rock has lived by for years now. A champion in the making. Blaze Rock is versatility and creativity. Blaze Rock is reality and comedy. The powerful, thought-provoking orator and performer is as many things as he is not, but if nothing else he is unique. He epitomizes the term MC. But just saying emcee may be an understatement. This emcee is also a producer, writer AND singer. Hailing from Phoenix, Arizona, Blaze Rock has turned a creative love for music and poetry in to a journey of education, entertainment and emotion for all listeners and lovers of hip-hop alike. At the young age of 12, Blaze was introduced to hip-hop music under the tutelage of other aspiring rappers. Always inclined to writing, Blaze began to test the rap waters, forming a 3-man group then called the Rascals. The Rascals never materialized into much but it began the fire that birthed an undying love for the hip-hop genre. Honing his skills for the next few years, Blaze and 3 childhood friends created The Naps, a local high school touring rap group "doing it for the love." Groups later, following a stint of College Baseball, Blaze came back to the mic more determined than ever, to bring his unique vision and perspective to a genre often chided for it's limits. Seeking to diversify his music and the hip-hop culture, Blaze has completed a number of full length albums and side-projects as a testament to his commitment to the success of creative hip-hop. His music has been around the world, with thousands of fans clamoring for the next level. Now, he prepares to embark on the most exciting aspect of his musical journey. Death of A Dream, is the second full-retail release from Blaze Rock, presented in part by Urban Authentics Music and Workgroup Media. Featuring a variety of styles, topics, moods and perspective, this album is poised to position itself as a staple in any listener's catalog. 'A champion hangs up the cleats, and walks away...'
