Easter comes early (Hooray!)

Shiny!

Chocolate! Yes, our favourite fattening holiday (aside from all the others) has arrived, and we’re in a happy mood.

Notice how I didn’t say ‘hoppy’.

We’ve always made sure that no holiday goes unturned, but this time around, we’ve got two surprises for you.

First off is a daily special. Since yesterday we have been releasing a daily bunch of Chart and Pre Order CDs deals, from Lady Gaga’s ‘Born This Way’ to (insert one of Thursday’s special awesome CDs here).

Yeah, apparently I can’t tell the future very well. So you’ll just have to check in each day to see what we’ve got lined up for you.

Click here to find out our daily deals this week.

But wait, there’s more!

Like all Easter traditions, it’s important to restore a bit of childhood excitement. I always loved hunting for Easter eggs. Our backyard was big, but the stress the Easter Bunny had about hungry ants sniffing out chocolate meant the eggs were hidden adequately, unable to be missed.

If you don’t have a backyard, or you don’t have the time to hide them anymore, why not endulge in our own Easter Egg Hunt?

Find a golden egg on our website, and grab a £1 voucher to be used at CD WOW!. Find another one? Then looky here! That’s another voucher!

We’ve…I mean the Easter Bunny, has hidden five eggs around our site, and for those able to find our five eggs can scramble a hidden word to win a £300 CD WOW! voucher!

Visit our Easter Egg Hunt page here.

What’re you waiting for? Hop to it! (ACK! I used a holiday pun. No taste at all, Doogs)

Metallica_death_magneticDeath Magnetic is the ninth studio album from stalwart heavy metal rockers Metallica. Scheduled for release in September this release comes five years after the much discussed St Anger album, some loved it and some didn’t!
The album is said to be a return to former glory with ten blistering new songs and 75 minutes in length. The band actually recorded 11 songs for the album but they wouldn’t all fit on!
The lead single, the name of which has not yet been confirmed, is described as the most downbeat track on the album, and to sound like their 1990 epic breakthrough single ‘One’, will be released to the Rock Band Game before the single is available to buy.

Coldplay – New Release news!

Thursday, March 20th, 2008

OK, I’ll write a full review of this album when there is more detail available, but as you can see above, the Coldplay website yesterday announced that the new album should be finished by the end of this week. A tracklisting should be available in the next couple of days, so keep checking!!
Also announced was the title of the new set "Viva La Vida, or Death and all his Friends".

Viva_la_vidaIt’s a tribute to the late Mexican painter Frida Kahlo. One of her more famous paintings was of watermelons, one of which has the words Viva La Vida carved into the flesh, and hence the title.
We’ve included a picture of it just so you can impress all of your friends with your knowledge of the piece!
Apparently another great fan of her work is Madonna. So there you go.

The album is due out on June 16th, Coldplay recorded the new set in Spain and a message on their official website last year said the sessions "bore the influence of the region".
It is also reputed to be a radical departure for the four piece band. Well I for one can’t wait, and you lucky people can pre-order Vivre La Vida now for the staggeringly low price of just £7.99 at CD WOW! Wow, no I really mean it, WOW!!!
