Bo Dukes EP
Murry Hammond from the Old 97s: "And great job, too, on the recording. Most new records I get don't live in my CD player more than a week - but it's been a week and I'm still running through it. The lyrics are very good. But it's not just that - the whole thing keeps me interested.' Tommy Walter from the eels and Abandoned Pools: "This is a masterful combination of melody, wit, and soul." From Los Angeles, CA, The Bo Dukes are an infectious piano-based rock trio drawing on influences from the Beatles to the Black Crowes to Medeski Martin & Wood. Only a year into their career as a band, these boys have played raucous shows all over southern California including marquee slots at the Viper Room, the Roxy Theater, the Mint, and every place in between. The Bo Dukes' sound has been likened to Ben Folds with a little bit of funk and Elvis Costello with a lot of fun. Set apart from the rest of the indie-rock pack by their combination of rowdy energy and memorable melodies, The Bo Dukes are currently "tearing up the LA club scene" (Muzzle of Bees) and are certainly "a great band to go check out accompanied by a few brews of choice" (Each Note Secure). Their up-tempo live shows have been "garnering buzz and rave reviews" (San Diego Serenade). The Bo Dukes are currently celebrating the completion of their seven song demo recorded at Grandma's Warehouse in Echo Park, by Andrew Bush (Bob Dylan) and mastered by Gavin Lurssen at the Mastering Lab in Hollywood (Green Day, Ben Harper, and two-time Grammy winner).
