Open My Eyes
Bob Fahnestock is an experienced songwriter, singer, and musician. His music is thought-provoking, introspective, and honest. His CD release entitled OPEN MY EYES contains music written or arranged later in life. He is joined on the CD by his daughter, Sarah Williams, and several friends primarily from the Center For Spiritual Living in Santa Rosa, CA. His song 'Open To The Miracle Of Love' which appears on the CD, was first recorded by Linda Webb-Khakaba, and is now sung all over the world. One of Linda's songs, 'Nothing Left But Forgiveness' is included on the CD. Bob's musical life began in West-Central Missouri where, at age 9, he began performing in a family band. The band achieved immense popularity throughout the midwest and was a feature act at State Fairs for many years. His country blues and bluegrass roots remain apparent in his music. His own alternating thumb guitar style on up-tempo songs is reminiscent of the great delta blues sound of Mississippi John Hurt, and country great, Merle Travis, two of Bob's early influences. Bob has historically done backup vocals and played guitar and bass as a band member. OPEN MY EYES features 12 of his own songs and represents a departure from his usual role.
