Bob Mittnacht & the Crowning Glories
Bob Mittnacht recently embarked on a solo career in an effort to put a long overdue focus on his original music and impressions of life gathered over the years. The results can be found in the mix of rock, alt-country and blues that you will hear in Bob Mittnacht and The Crowning Glories. Bob Mittnacht and his new band The Crowning Glories first got together in early 2006. The band brings together some of the best players Bob has worked with over his many years making music including John Barrett on drums, Shane Loy on bass and backing vocals, Larry Byrne (formerly with Luther Allison) on Hammond B3 and piano and Bob on guitar and lead vocals. With a catalog of original material, Bob Mittnacht and The Crowning Glories went into Smart Studios in Madison, WI in the summer of 2006 with Brandon Mason (Nora Jones, Bono, David Bowie and Martha Wainwright) engineering the project and released their debut album in December of 2006. The band has opened or shared the bill with The Blasters, Mobile, G. Love and Special Sauce, The Romantics and Sarah Borges and The Broken Singles. Bob has also opened solo for Chris Difford from Squeeze.
