Bus : On the Line
The Bus's debut release, ON THE LINE, showcases the band as a powerful funk machine. Resonating with personality and unique energy, The Bus propels the sounds that have made music great - from the heavy heart of the blues and the driving funk of the '70s. The Bus was built in the summer of '95. Music was the driver, the common ground where it all came together. The passengers, each resonating with personality and unique energy, combined their talents to propel the sounds that have made music great. From the heavy heart of the blues and the driving funk of the '70s to the freedom of jazz and the groove of R&B, The Bus never lost direction. Utilizing the collaborative writing and playing skills of it's seven members, The Bus evolved into a powerful funk machine, driving straight through the souls of it's listeners. The group set out to bring back what it saw were the necessary but lost elements in today's popular music by writing great songs that inspire dance, emotion and good times. After the debut of their first self-produced CD on WERS 88.9FM Boston, The Bus began a steady rise in the local music scene. Regular club performances and the continuous support of college radio kept them in the minds of a growing number of area listeners. After signing with Mad Pan Records, The Bus released the full-length record ON THE LINE. Though the members of the band once called 'the hottest funk/soul band in Boston' have each gone their separate ways, the music they created in The Bus rides on.
