No Jokes No Games
To be great is to be consistently good. Greatness can be found all around us, but so often it is overlooked areas where the greatest creation are derived. Born and raised in the inner city of Little Rock, AR, hip-hop artist Brian \'Bware\' Smith is on a mission to change his title to hip-hop legend. Born in 1983, Bware grew up intrigued by many forms of music, but the aggressiveness of the early hip-hop movement grabbed his attention more than any other. As a child, his older brothers exposed him to a variety of pioneers like LLCoolJ, Busta Rymes, and Snoop Dogg. He admired these artists not only for their \'hot records\' at the time, but their abillity to consistently contribute and adapt to the ever changing hip-hop landscape. Although he was drawn to hip-hop as a child, it wasn\'t until his adolescent years that he realized his own talent. As a teenager Bware was drawn to artist such as Tupac, Biggie, and Jay-Z because of their articulate and clever wordplay, as well as their believable stories and willingness to speak about issues that others were afraid to. These artists as well as others, inspired him to gather his thoughts and display his skills. With the help of producers G-Sizz and Ferocious of Dat Heat Productions, he was able to develop a style and musical identity of his own. With a unique blend od edgy street lyrics, creative rhyme styles, and a distinctive tone, Bware is well capable of appealing to the masses. While making an impact on the underground hip-hop scene in Little Rock, he has been honing his skills and is ready and determined to show the music industry the \'greatness\' that is Bware. Bware\'s debut album, No Jokes No Games is the result of over 3 years of invested time, music, dedication, blood, sweat, and tears- molded and refined into a proper representation of southern music, specifically representing Little Rock, Arkansas. Though most artists and public figures are able to describe themselves with a simple catchphrase, Bware's vast musical reach and innate relationship with any person, excludes him from this privilege. Instead, when asked to characteristically label their comrade, fellow musicians can only agree on one description. "Every Person." Combining this relatability with phenomenal natural talent and extraordinary support from producers, and other musicians, No Jokes No Games is arguably the number one album to be released this year, 2008.
