Caliburr started writing music at age 19. But his passion for music roots back to about 7 years old. Caliburr was fascinated with Vanilla Ice mostly, but there were several hip hop and R&B artist who influenced his love for hip hop. Even female groups like TLC and Salt n Peppa had an impact on Caliburr as a young boy. He enjoyed the soul from Boys II Men and the street lyrics of LL Cool J. Caliburr was even moved by the music of the great Michael Jackson. Caliburr was "Bad" when Michael Jackson was "Bad" and Caliburr was "Lookin at the man in the mirror" when Michael Jackson was "Lookin at the man in the mirror". Caliburr loved "Lookin at them girls with the daisy dukes on" and had a great time showing everyone that "This is how we do it!". Caliburr was enriched with everything about hip hop music, but when Caliburr was 11 a new sound caught his ear. The astonishing sounds of a perfectly tuned six string electric guitar. Metallica had just released their self titled album "Black" and there was not one song that caliburr didn't enjoy listening to over and over again. Caliburr enjoy it so much that he picked up the electric guitar himself and started learning the Metallica songs that he enjoyed most. This new sound carried Caliburr into the ambitious sounds of Nirvana, Marilyn Manson, Ozzy Osbourne, Pennywise, NoFX, Green Day, Offspring, just to name a few. Caliburr found himself venturing into the older Rock n Roll back to the long hair bands like Def Leopard, Alice Cooper, and Van Halen. Eventually Caliburr Steered back into hip hop just in time to catch Caliburr's number one idol Tupac Shakur. Caliburr was so taken by the way Tupac could own the stage and any track he rapped on. Caliburr used to skate around on his skateboard rapping every song he could remember by Tupac. Then Tupac got murdered. This was a sad day not only for Caliburr but for the music industry. But Tupac wasn't done, after his death he started releasing album after album keeping Caliburr's dream of hip hop music alive. Caliburr always wanted to write music but never thought anybody would ever take him seriously. When Caliburr was about 18 years old a new king emerged into the hip hop world and shocked the nation including Caliburr. His name was Eminem. Eminem took the industry into a new ball park. He spoke to Caliburr same as a lot of artist and bands did only Eminem had the power to give Caliburr enough influence to finally want to rap himself. However Caliburr was still concerned about what people would think. Caliburr never came from money and lived in very low class neighborhoods his whole life. Caliburr's parents were separated since he was 2 and his father raised him. His father worked graveyard until he was laid off and unemployed when Caliburr was about 16. Caliburr started working at age 15. At that time he stayed with him mother who asked him to pay rent. Caliburr's parents could no longer afford to pay for his clothes, shoes, or even to keep food in the house and feed him. Caliburr started feeling more concerned with earning his own money than going to school. He mainly went to school just to earn a work permit to continue working. By age 16 Caliburr was working full time and skipping school all the time. At age 17 Caliburr was working 2 full time jobs and supporting himself and his father who was still unemployed. Caliburr went from school to school until he turned 18 and finally dropped out with only enough credits to have completed his freshman year. Caliburr went from job to job, losing jobs and quitting jobs as he moved around in his unstable lifestyle. Until finally Caliburr Decided to move away from his home town of Sacramento California to the Glamorous Las Vegas Nevada. Life was a gamble left and right and almost nothing was stable for Caliburr. Eventually when Caliburr was 19, life took him down a dark hole. Caliburr called his father for encouragement, but his father could not cheer him up. Caliburr wanted out of life. So he decided it was time for him to die. Caliburr tried to take his own life by swallowing bottles of pills and drinking alcohol until he passed out. But Caliburr did not die, instead he woke back up. He felt absolutely normal except for a stomach ache that lasted nearly two days. During these two days Caliburr decided that it just wasn't time for him to die and that there was a bigger purpose for his existence. That's when Caliburr started writing music. Caliburr wrote his first song the day he woke up from his suicide attempt at the age of 19. This song was titled "Tell Me Why" which eventually became the first song on Caliburr's debut album "The First Book". Caliburr's music is a reflection of the life that Caliburr had experienced going from Sacramento C.A. to Las Vegas N.V. back to Sacramento and becoming a father. Struggling with almost no help. Caliburr almost lost sight of his dream to become a lyrical musician through the up's and downs of everyday living. However Caliburr made a promise to several people including his older sister and his little sister to continue his lyrical art. Caliburr has even accomplished many more goals during the making of 'The First Book'. Not only did Caliburr complete the first album but has also lined up several more album's in the form of a series to follow 'The First Book'. Caliburr has also started his own Record Label "Caliburr Records", and Produced and published his own music taking on the Record Label Ownership challenges in life. Caliburr has been influenced his whole life by the absolutely talented hip hop, rap, and rock n roll music industry and could only dream to one day be as influencing to his audience as these artist have been to him. But Caliburr coming from a street background had a different vision. Although the 'Street Life' exists in Caliburr, Caliburr would like to bring something different to the hip hop table. A style that brings new heart. Caliburr's vision is a world without war. Caliburr understands he will never see this world but through his words he can create the world himself. Leaving behind a vision that listener's have a good possibility of seeing. Most of Caliburr's music and upcoming music speaks of truth, experience, reality of life, everyday struggling, and many controversial topics that Caliburr feels like talking about in his music. Caliburr stands for the real people in this world, not the school bully or the high school jock spoiled by his rich parents, but the people that deal with disappointment almost constantly. Caliburr stands for Repect and nothing less. Respect to yourself and to others. Caliburr Stands for protection and defending those who aren't so able to defend themselves against any predator, foreign and domestic. Caliburr stands for the protection of the innocent and for the right thing to do in any situation presented in front of you. Caliburr stands for sacrifice and will sacrifice himself to save another in need. This is Caliburr. This is a New Beginning!!!
