Waiting for Joe
Pushing the boundaries of traditional folk and acoustic rock, Calico Blur brings their own unique sense of rhythm, harmony & tone to the world of music with a new sound that feels like old times. Philadelphia music verterans, Anthony Homack and Jim Hurley have re-invented their themselves into an act that emphasizes the roots of all music from around the world. Anthony & Jim have been developing their sound for several years as a side project to their musical alter ego, moibus trip. Calico Blur developed a new sound centered on old fashioned vocal harmonies, acoustic strings, electric bass and world percussion appealing to all ages and cultures. Rounding out the band is Chris Dunn on piano and strings, Jenna Franceski on vocal harmonies and tambourine, Suzie Homack on background vocals, slide guitar and percussion and Jen Hurley on the claves, congas and background vocals. With their debut album, Waiting for Joe, now complete, Calico Blur has been creeping into the local Philly music scene appearing at the WXPN's World Café Live and a number of coffee shops around the Delaware Valley creating a buzz everywhere they go.
