Wake Up & Love Me
Carla Holden represents a new style of singer songwriter. Her imaginative take on pop music is exactly what is missing in today's musical climate. Inventive lyrics, unique song arrangements, and an expressive voice that goes from vulnerable to playful all within a 3 minute song. Born and raised in Carson CA, Carla attended private catholic schools her entire life and went on to college like a good little girl. A year into college Carla knew there had to be life outside of the world she was in. Her big dream was to move to Hollywood and become a major rock star. She quit her crappy job, dropped out of college, and packed her bags. Carla began studying vocals, piano, and guitar but eventually decided to move to New York to focus on her songwriting. 6 months later she returned with enough material to record her first CD. Carla possesses that alluring quality which captivates and holds everyone's attention in the room. She has that ever illusive 'it' that all stars have. Her versatility and unique style set her apart from other female singers. From beat boxing to scatting, her self produced CD showcases her eclectic upbeat style. With influences ranging from Blondie to Red Hot Chili Peppers to Run DMC. Carla has been invited to perform with many of today's up and coming recording artists such as Sheila Nicholls, Charlotte Martin, Mia Doi Todd, and Lili Haydn. She has performed at prestigious Los Angeles venues The El Rey Theatre, The Knitting Factory, The Palace, and The Viper Room. This one woman powerhouse is on her way to the top.
