When Miracles Come Our Way
Carol Dabney is a singer songwriter who was raised on a farm in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas. Carol's early musical influences came from Southern Gospel, Country and Western and a touch of her Latin heritage. She studied Italian Opera at 16 and won a national talent award in 1976 while reigning as 'Arkansas'All American Girl', giving her an opportunity to record her first single 'Arkansas' at Caprise Records in Nashsville, Tenn. Carol sang the National Antheme and for county festivals in a three state area during the country's Bicentennial. Carol married attorney mike Dabney and they had two little boys when Carol's family moved to the Hawaiian Islands in the 1980's, where she continued to enjoy performing, teaching music, radio announcing, composing, and recording. While in Hawaii Carol had twin daughters, and her third son.The children began performing with Carol everywhere she went. The biys learned guitar and the girls learned to dance hula. She recorded an all original album in 1989 at RKS Studios, and was singing backup vocals for various recording artist when engineer Randy Sugata introduced Carol's musical talents to Honolulu Producer Tom Moffatt and A & R agent George Chun of Paradise Records. Carol signed a singer-songwriter contract in 1995 and released an all original Island contemporary CD,titled 'My Heart is Your Home' which gave her statewide exposer and a local hit,singing a duet with Kaulana Pakele on a song Carol penned intitled 'Secret Place' playing every 3 hours for nearly a year. Carol began work on her next project,a follow up duet 'Picture of You' recorded in 1997. In 1998 Carol formed her own company 'Hearts in Tune Records' and recorded a mix of originals and motown favorites on her CD album titled 'Just My Imagination' with her own husband and children singing backup vocals, she traveled to the mainland singing instore promotions at Borders Books and Music stores, churches and programs for Civic events and festivals. The Dabneys moved back to her husbands hometown in Marked Tree, Arkansas in 1999, where they run a small law office and Carol continues to compose music,not only for herself, but for other recording artists. These days she and her daughters are asked to come and sing and dance hula for alot of 'mainland' luaus. Now Carol's newest gospel 'When Miracles Come Our Way' is a mix of styles ranging from contemporary, country, with a hint of Hawaiian, Latin and even a Jewish tune. 'Christian Music is at the Heart of our family, we have a passion for the things of God, and we know we need to keep our hearts in tune with Him, thus the company name Hearts in Tune Records,to remind us'. Carol's music is always uplifting, her voice is clear and sweet with a wide range and emotion, which touches the heart of everyone who hears her.
