I love Christmas! I usually start playing a few Christmas CD's around July! Did I say I love Christmas? And it wouldn't be Christmas for me without traditional Christmas carols that take me back to my childhood and singing in the car with my dad and sister. My CD is a collection of some of my favorite traditional carols (some with a new twist) and some new compositions I've written over the last few years. I'm the music director of a small church and as my choir can tell you I keep finding pieces of music that have different variations of Pachelbel's Canon woven in it so I had to put my own version on my CD. I think that's my favorite. A couple of years ago I woke up and I felt God calling me to do a Christmas CD. I thought I'd love to do that someday and do it as a fund raiser for my church. So I tucked the thought away. About a year and a half later I was taking guitar lessons from Michael McCabe and he brought in a song he was recording for his Amor CD and he said he was recording it on his home studio. I told him that someday I would love to record a Christmas CD and he said why not work on songs for it now. We started working on songs and one day he told me I was ready to start recording. Wow! So I packed up my keyboard and guitar and headed to Michaels' studio. Michael was such a joy to work with so creative, not to mention he's a fabulous guitar player! There were times I could almost see the wheels turning in his head! So this is the result and I hope you enjoy it! Part of the proceeds of this album will go to my church. Blessings, Cedar.
