Kate Adams has been playing the cello since the age of 5, and she was in the local youth orchestra and every annual eisteddfod growing up in Darwin. After completing her Bachelor of music in Adelaide, she moved to Sydney to try to forget everything she learned at uni, but could never leave her cello behind. She played and recorded with many Sydney songwriters and bands, including Paul Greene, Melanie Horsnell, Brian Campeau, Tim Ireland, Bridie O'Brien, Inga Liljestrom, Morganics, Miles Merril, Trevor Brown (from Waiting For Guinness), Athron, Brett Winterford (from Peregrine), Naked Without My Cello (with Miriam Lieberman) and The Waiter's Tantrum Fantasy before moving to Europe to see what else was happening. Guitarist-producer Martijn Hadders was raised in America and Holland by Dutch parents, and took up the guitar at the age of 11. After studying music technology and jazz guitar in The Hague, Martijn wrote music for short films, jingles and epic ballads, orchestrated for big bands, and at various times taught piano, guitar, recorder, drums and music theory. As a producer he's very hard to get hold of. They met playing together in the Songwriters' Co-op "The Practicles" in Utrecht, Holland.
