Comfort It Brings
Charissa was born in Ft. Collins, CO in 1979, and music has been her passion, always exhibiting a unique voice and a desire to sing. Starting at a young age, she studied classical piano, and eventually found herself playing the guitar, as well. The combination of all these things led Charissa to discover her greatest gift and passion - songwriting. She was the first student to ever create a complete curricullum in songwriting for her four years at Bennington College, and graduated with a BA in music. After graduating from Bennington College, Charissa moved to South Florida where she currently resides and performs locally. She is currently looking for label interest and high level management. The music she performs is original and insightful, often poignant, and she uses her music as a vehicle for emotional, often personal, reflection. The music rings beautifully honest, sometimes sarcastic, a clever mixture of simplicity and complexity. Her influences include the Beatles, Leonard Cohen, Ani DiFranco, and her many music teachers. She has completely unique style of writing and singing, bringing lyrical and musical complexity to amazingly beatiful, seemingly simple songs.
