Long Walks Off a Short Pier
'Long Walks Off A Short Pier is a beautiful and fun mixture of music and mystique. Charles' ability to paint a picture through his music is incredible, almost surreal.... This CD is so versatile that it is difficult to place it into any one particular genre.' -Kimberly Carzell During the recording sessions with Hartford's proto-goth garage group The Dispossessed, then subsequently working with Dispossessed singer and songwriter Leigh Gregory, Charles had accumulated a small collection of personal and introspective compositions that were not suitable to these projects. It wasn't until the mid-nineties that he found an opportunity to connect with friend and guitarist Jim Chapdelaine, with whom Charles had worked on Leigh's 1989-1990 sessions before Leigh's departure for the west coast. Over a period of a couple of years, using the small scraps of time available in Jim's rather hectic schedule, Charles pieced together what was to become 'Long Walks off a Short Pier'. 'Charles Dube is an intelligent and meaningful songwriter who tells his stories with an eerie passionate voice. The production is first class and the recording flows from beginning to end.' -Eric Lambert 181.4 Degrees From the Norm.
