A classically trained pianist and bass player, Charmaine Mazzone has performed in orchestras, dinner theatres, folk and jazz ensembles. She graduated summa cum laude from Virginia Commonwealth University with a degree in music theory and composition. Charmaine's compositions have been performed in Richmond, VA, Washington DC and New York City. She now spends her time writing and arranging music for other lyricists, and has most recently composed the musical score for a ballooning video. She provides the following short descriptions of the songs on her new release - 'Mind Dances': Kaleid-escape - colors & shapes evolving as you turn the kaleidoscope. Get lost in the maze... Cavalier Tea Dance - those hot summer Sunday afternoons swaying to the Latin beat... Church Street - rainy, November night... hazy streetlights ... alone and still so far to go... Phantom Lover - so real you feel like you can reach out and touch the dream... Cancioncita - sizzle in South America style. Makes you want to jump up and dance... Southern Ways - lazy, sultry mid-summer evening... fireflies glow... feel the hint of a breeze... Atmosphere - storm clouds build, then release their fury, only to give way to the sunshine patiently waiting behind. Another Sunday - kites flying, kids laughing, dogs playing... another Sunday in the park... Blue Soul - the blues with a twist. Who said you have to be traditional? Ringing True - you just know when something sounds right! Amazon - feel the jungle heat, mysterious and impelling... Bream's Lullaby - sing your baby to sleep with this simple, lovely lullaby. Hymn to the Innocent - a classically oriented piece, graceful harmonies, poignant dissonance. Join me in these Mind Dances.
