Collins started writing poetry at the age of 12. When she turned 15, she joined Bethany Baptist Church in Lindenwold, NJ. At Bethany, she became involved in many different ministries, such as: The High School Ministry, The counseling ministry, the outreach ministry, and the young adult college ministry. She also joined the L.Y.N.X poetry ministry. It was through that ministry that she learned how to express, through spoken word, the poetry she had been writing for those past three years. Bethany's Youth Pastor, Rev. Ronald Walker, gave her many opportunities to minister her poetry, by allowing her to recite her poetry at various churches when he was asked to preach. At 15, she was ministering through poetry at various churches in the New Jersey and Philadelphia area. With the help of her mother, she was able to create and copyright her first booklets of poetry. After three years of maturing and growing in her word under the leadership of Bishop David G. Evans, Rev. Nick Smith, and Rev. Walker, Chinell was encouraged to move forward in her ministry. At the age of 18, with the help of her father, she proceeded to make her first CD. She knew that she would need a creative producer to carry out her creative vision, so she asked none other than Gary Diggs. A year later (2005), her first CD 'Promised' was born. 'Promised' turned out to be a very successful project. It is sold in various Christian bookstores and on-line. Poems from the CD are currently being played on the radio in New Jersey, Maryland, and Ohio. She is truly grateful for all that God has done and is doing in her life. She is not prideful in any way, because she knows that she wouldn't be able to do it without God. She has a heart to minister to those who NEED it. She is a sower of her time and money, and help. She does not write to be famous, but she wants lives to be changed and souls to be saved by her words, and God's word. Thank you for supporting her ministry! Love to all and God Bless.
