'Chris Ayer's voice is smooth and soulful, and his music is sincere folk-pop that hits home. Chris and his music find their roots in many places. Raised in Virginia, Chris moved to the San Francisco bay area for college. After 5 years of California living, Chris headed east to New York City, where he now lives, and shares his heartfelt musical blend: his sound mixes folk, rock, bluegrass, soul, and pop. If you take a moment to listen to his songs, you find that they are about looking to feel connected, getting desensitized, getting resensitized, confusion, taking the ride, looking for insight, hoping to the point of denial... The themes are simple, and expansive. Chris started out singing along to Elvis's Greatest Hits when he was 7 in his hometown of McLean, Virginia, and asked to start taking piano lessons soon after. Chris got his first guitar at age 18; he started writing songs that same day. He moved from the east out to California in 2000 where he began playing shows locally. Chris released his EP, 'Static', in June 2003. These days you will find him playing his songs in coffee houses, bars, parties - even busking on the streets. And people are listening. All over, folks are taking the time to find out more about Chris's music - sharing it with friends, making it a part of their daily listening. One fan described listening to Chris Ayer's music for the first time: 'It feels like you've discovered something special.' Chris graduated with a degree in philosophy from Stanford University in 2004, and has since set off to make and share his music. His first full-length studio album will be out soon. In the meantime, be on the lookout for tour dates throughout the land.' For booking and inquiries: email firstname.lastname@example.org.
