Nice & Easy
You have seen several CDs released on this site by CLAUD RIVERS. All of the write ups say that he is a jazz saxophonist. However, there were no completely jazz CDs on this site until now. Finally here is the first jazz CD entitled "Nice & Easy" by Claud Rivers. He has several jazz CDs which were released in a very limited number of cities in the U.S.A. He will be making them available on CDBABY.COM along with other CD projects he is currently working on during the next year. If you like great original jazz music that is new and fresh to you, check out and add these CDs to your jazz collection. It is my belief that you to will become a Claud Rivers fan after listening to his unique style of smooth/contemporary jazz. This CD, "Nice & Easy," contains ten selections of which two are vocals selections by guest artist Heather "P." She sings the original version of one of the most popular songs from his 2005 CD "Claud Rivers Featuring Theo" entitled "Losing On Love." The other songs are smooth and contemporary jazz with some containing Latin rhythms. "Claudy" is a traditional, straight ahead jazz tune which Claud performs well on the alto sax. However, "Hot" and "Tough Love," performed on the tenor sax, are the ones that were spotlighted on several jazz shows in Hampton, VA and Columbus, Georgia. When this CD was first released in Hampton, VA it was put in rotation by the Hampton University FM radio station, 88.1 FM. The song "With You Here" is an updated release of a song from his self titled debut CD and is his signature composition. It has been used for commercials on radio and received airplay in several cities in Georgia, Alabama and also in Hampton Roads. Claud plays the soprano, alto and tenor saxes well and you will hear selections done on all three saxes on this CD. He has a great sound on all three horns. This really sets him apart from other saxophonists. Most players tend to stick with one or two horns. However, he does a great job on all three saxes. Most of all you should pay strict attention to the compositions. He writes all original tunes for most of his CDs. This again should be considered when listening as he has become an accomplished writer and arranger. Buy "Nice & Easy" and enjoy great, original, smooth and fresh jazz saxophone music just as the title suggests.
