Description
Widowed Lyons watchmaker Michel Descombes (Philippe Noiret) had made a respected and quiet life for himself and his teenage son Bernard (Sylvain Rougerie). It would stunningly unwind when Bernard was accused of murdering a coworker, and the local police chief (Jean Rochefort) sought to wheedle his cooperation. Bertrand Tavernier's masterful feature directing debut, adapted from a Georges Simenon novel, also stars Christine Pascal. 105 min.
