Complete Wolverines: 1924-1928 / Various
College bands come and go, but few could match the virtuosity and fire of the Wolverines (and their many permutations) in the 1920s. They went absolutely wild with that new sound called jazz and were the hottest dance band in the land. Their members included legends such as Bix Beiderbecke and Jimmy McPartland. A young songwriter named Hoagy Carmichael wrote music for them. The 27 cuts on this CD feature a new restoration process that focuses on pitch and restoring the actual sound and energy of the band as best as humanly possible.
