Solé is a latin rock band that is based in Gothenburg, Sweden. Their original music - filled with a passion for life and energetic latin rhythms - will get you on your feet and dancing. Their creative lyrics enhance the motley musical style with influences from rock, salsa, jazz, reggae, rap and Latin-American folk music. Their growing audience has reponded enthusiastically since Solé first performed in May of 2004. Solé is: Christian Bleckman: Drumset (Sweden) Elin Dybjer: Sax and background vocals (England) Henrik Nilsson: Bass (Sverige) Andrés Solé: Guitar and vocals (Colombia) Demo Reviewed in the Gothenburg Post (May 13, 2006) Solé Latinrock. It does not happen often that someone who doesn't sing in Swedish or English makes a huge impact with bells and whistles. German crazy hits like Schnappi have done it, or Latin-American rock artists like Shakira or Ricky Martin. But that's about it. That is if one doesn't take into account Juanes, who is now making his way up the charts after a huge marketing campaign. Rock sung in Spanish is not very common. It is possible that Juanes is opening the door for Solé, who plays a similar, latin flavored rock. Solé is a multicultural quartet from Gothenburg who's members come from Colombia, England and Sweden. They are just about ready to record their first album, on an independent label, and when you listen to the demo, they are definitely ready. They have found their way of writing songs, their style is well defined and expressive and the only thing that might be missing are a couple of really intensive jam sessions in their studio. Unfortunately, they are not always perfectly tight and for this kind of music to really swing that is essential. But the singer is good and the saxophone does a nice job in adding variation to the overall sound.
