Encompassing a broad range of musical influences including elements of Indie Rock, minimalist classical music, and American and World traditional music, Conductive Alliance creates music with infectious staying power. Conductive Alliance formed in 2007, when long time friends Dan Larson, Eli McLaughlin, and Edgar Castellán began composing music on acoustic instruments that evolved into short, powerful arrangements. The addition of Nicholas Hill on upright bass added color and support to the group's intricate grooves. The band now hungrily seeks out undiscovered sounds, moving beyond their original instruments. Electronics, traditional ethnic instruments, and even children's toys are used in inventive songwriting. Conductive Alliance's second self-titled EP explores the power of composition, deftly moving from one color to the next in. The interconnected arrangements draw from each member's musical background to form a striking soundscape. Distributed through Reformer Records, Conductive Alliance is garnering buzz around Chicago's indie and fine arts scene, already selling out of it's original limited press.
