With her fourth CD release, Cris once again captures all of her musical styles but this time with an emphasis on blues. Although she writes a story into each song, there seems to be a bigger story (not intentional) that develops as the CD progresses. And it's a story of experience, emotions and dreams, with that undertone of mischievous humor that is always a part of Cris. Without overanalyzing things, and as Cris would be the first to say, it's still all about the music. The melodies on Blue Fever certainly cover her undefinable spectrum. Some rockin' blues, some slow blues, some rockin' ballads, some slow ballads, a little jazz, a little this and a lotta that. It's just an all around fun CD to listen to, with plenty of twists and turns. I never get tired of Cris's blend of writing, playing and singing; it always 'fits like a glove'. If good music is measured by it's soul, then this CD goes the distance.
