Islands in the Desert
Dan Cooney was last seen as Chet in Northlight Theatre's critically acclaimed production of Over the Tavern. As a folk singer and songwriter, his stories and songs are heard regularly on Michael Novak's Radio Spackle for WGN Radio. His tongue-in-cheek Cub Tough Luck is an unfortunate perennial at the station. He also contributed the sad Bobby's Punchline to the Bob Collins tribute. A regular in the Chicago theatre scene, he has performed with numerous theatres, including Goodman, Bailiwick Commons, and Cloud 42. Favorite roles include Wang, the waterseller, in The Good Woman of Szechwan and Jim in Sam Shepard's Red Cross. On television, he has appeared most notably as Babe Ruth in NBC's All Star Gold. Islands In The Desert, released in December 2003, is his first CD.
