Guts & Gravel
Your No Good Buddies (YNGB) is a band with their roots in the past and branches reaching for the future. This group of baby boomers plays their own interpreted brand of 'Americana Roots-Rock'. They derive their sound from diverse artists such as Willie Nelson, The Band, CCR and The Beatles while adding thought provoking lyrics and a humorous twist to much of their music. Made up of Dan Daniels (lead vocals, rhythm guitar, and songwriter), Dan Margolis, (electric lead guitar, mandolin, and vocals), and Shawn Mansfield, (bass and vocals), these seasoned weekend warriors have paid their dues since debuting in June, 2002, performing at clubs and events throughout central New England. Your No Good Buddies don't take themselves too seriously, as you can tell by their name, and from some of their songs such as 'I've Been Eatin' Onions' and 'Do It While We Can'. In addition to their humorous side, the band also delivers powerful, eloquent and emotional tunes that express their message that music can uplift us, move us, make us laugh, and make us cry. Come Spend some time with Your No Good Buddies!! Guts and Gravel is the first release by Dan Daniels and Your No Good Buddies. It's a 12-song, old school CD that represents the best inspirations in American music - Roots-Rock, Alt-country, Cajun, Country, Polka, a Reggae influenced tune, and even a Gospel number. Your No Good Buddies' approach to music is often humorous, sometimes political, always upbeat and seriously fun. It's music for today with the inspirations of the past not forgotten. The originality of lyrics and subject matter, and the infectious melodies are combined beautifully to produce a truly exciting and satisfying listening experience. The songs, though unique in some ways, take us back to a happier, simpler time, when the lyrics were understandable, you could sing along with every tune, and music was just plain fun.
