Prayer for the Innocent
Critically acclaimed jazz guitarist Dan Peterson has composed a diverse group of tunes celebrating God's blessings in this collection which marked his return after a ten year absence from the music scene. The first 18 songs are layered synth and guitar tunes which feature a joyous spirit and some moments of impressive guitar playing along with several avant-garde compositions. The real musical treasure in this CD however are the last 12 of the 31 songs where Peterson plays layered guitars in a slow deliberate musical prayer that is beautiful and peaceful. At 31 tracks this CD provides extended listening and even with some keyboard excursions by guitarist Peterson, it provides evocative ideas, soothing moods and many great tracks to choose from. Peterson shows interesting and original compositional style with this project which is compiled from dates from 1980 through the early 1990's and his guitar playing is always original, beautifully presented and technically complex. This CD is a collectors item available in limited quantities.
