You Need More Love
Danan Healy's debut EP is all about being personal. She starts with the words and the music comes from them. Some songs are ironic (like Despise You with an upbeat, ska feel in a major key with such dark lyrics), some are overtly sexual (Gold Star speaks for itself), and some convey deep feelings of inadequacy and pain (like in The Only Way). But each song is purely Danan. Each is a short glimpse into a different part of her...sometimes funny, sometimes smart, sometimes harshly critical of herself and her surroundings. Danan's music is from vastly differing influences including Mozart, Wolf, Gwen Stephani Liz Phair, and Kurt Weill. Danan says: "If you want to have a good time and dance around your house naked, you should definitely buy this CD."
