Product Notes

THE DANGERS first CD is a powerhouse. Pure pop songs like Radio City, Dedication, and Get High trace three decades of rock music, and were very influential to bands like Cracker and Camper Van Beethoven. A review from GAROD: Dedication - The Dangers Again, I'm too biased to accurately assess this album, but the duo of Johnny Hickman and Chris LeRoy bring together influences from all over the map. You get a Little Rock-a-billy, country punk, and roots rock all rolled into one. Fans of music of all genres will probably enjoy this the most. Front Door and Sunday Morning are going in high rotation on the Ipod. Those are two good ones to try out... ALSO Read from Cracker leader David Lowery's recent interview promoting The Pioneertown Campout Music Festival in California... THE SUN TELEGRAM: Pappy and Harriet's to host music festival By Mark Petix, Staff Writer They call it a campout, but David Lowery sees it as more of a homecoming... Lowery, the founder of Camper Van Beethoven and co-founder of Cracker, says Pioneertown in the San Bernardino County desert is a special place... ... Lowery says it's always great to return to the Inland Empire. He says Camper and Cracker's alt/indie sounds were forged in the Inland Empire, where the sounds of ranchero, country and metal could be heard loud and strong. He has vivid memories of The Dangers, a local band that dared to bring the area it's first real dose of punk. He says the band, fronted by Chris LeRoy, never got it's full due, so he's very happy The Dangers are part of this year's campout lineup. 'There was nothing like it on the local music scene,' he said. 'They really inspired us.
