Kneel & Believe
Daniel Niebuhr is a Contemporary Christian artist with a musical approach that centers around keyboard and acoustic guitar. He displays an amazing versatility and delivers his songs in musical styles that include ballads, easy listening, R&B, and up-tempo/rock. This is his second album and is a collection of original songs drawn from events around him. Among these selections you will find music for Holy Communion ('Kneel and Believe' - track #3), one for a wedding ('When Eyes Above' - track #7), and a message for all of us who survived the terrorist acts of September 11, 2001 ('This is the Time' - track # 11). These songs are in their original and uncut versions, so they are a bit longer than those you might hear on the radio. Like his 7 brothers, Dan began his musical journey with his earliest memories. His father, William, was an extremely accomplished Director of Music, composer, church organist and choir director in congregations of the mid-west and he played numerous side venues as well. The family home was a constant source and example of Christian teaching, musical inspiration and support due to the tireless efforts of his mother, Marian. With the present day support of his wife and 3 children Dan continues to keep Praise-through-music central to his life. Dan is presently working as a church musician in Richland, WA where he specializes and excels in high quality expressions of contemporary worship. The songs collected here, and those of his previous CD, are works that were used there to inspire and lead. Now they can begin to move out to a wider audience to bring the same message of hope, commitment and the challenge for people to use their faith for good among others in this life as we move toward the next. It is a challenge that is extended to each and every listener with the hopes that you, too, will join in the journey. Reviews of people who have purchased 'Kneel and Believe' prior to it's listing on CD Baby: 1) 'Kneel and Believe' the 2nd CD in a not-yet-finished series by a gentle writer is a remarkable diversity of musical style and soul-searching reflection. It is a healing work of lessons learned, and that is what holds the key to the strength of this collection. The artist's voice is both that of a father whispering a lullabye and a that of a warrior heralding victory. Dedication songs for a confirmation and a wedding speak to his true spirit of helping others find direction on life's brick road. This CD is recommended to lighten dark days and lift spirits on the long journey. D. Starrow, Richland, WA, 2003.
